Abu Dhabi's Hub71 rolls out incentives for its start-ups

21 May 2020

Abu Dhabi’s headline startup ecosystem, Hub71, has announced various incentives to employees to tackle the negative impact of COVID-19.

The one billion dirhams mega hub, which was started in March 2019 is based in Abu Dhabi Global Market Square on Al Maryah Island. It aims to accelerate the local economy by bringing together start-ups, innovators and global powerhouses in the technology industry.

In a tweet, Hub 71 said it will extend COVID-19 incentives to its 50 plus startups, covering all employees’ housing and office space rent for two months, and will evaluate the need for further support on a monthly basis.

In April, Hub71 added 15 new startups, taking the total number to 51. The hub’s Selection Committee prioritised start-ups HealthTech and EdTech, which have supported adaptations to the complex challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
