Abu Dhabi has become a vibrant financial hub in the Gulf region and its financial center was ranked among the top 25 worldwide in 2018 according to the “The Global Financial Centres Index 23” reports published in March 2018. The Abu Dhabi banking industry is underpinned by improving regulatory framework and largely stable financial performance of the banks with healthy earnings generation

Abu Dhabi continues to attract investment in the financial and insurance sector, Its banking, insurance and asset management sectors are leading the region and are expected to continue their tremendous growth. Deposits and credit growth are expected to improve due to the positive macroeconomic outlook and total gross premiums are anticipated to increase by 6.8% in 2018.

According to the US-based Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) is the biggest sovereign wealth fund in the Middle East and the third-biggest globally, with assets of USD828 billion. ADIA invest funds on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi

and make available the financial resources to secure and maintain the future welfare of the Emirate.

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the merger of National bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) in 2017 created the second-largest bank in the Middle East with total assets of USD182 billion as of Dec. 31, 2017.

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) plays a vital role in positioning Abu Dhabi as a global hub for business and finance that connects the growing economies of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. ADGM is recognized as the Top FinTech Hub in MENA. With the support of three independent authorities, the Registration Authority, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority and ADGM Courts, local and global companies are able to conduct their business efficiently within an international regulatory framework that has an independent judicial system and a robust legislative infrastructure based on Common Law.


Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange (ADX) is the most innovative stock exchange in the MENA region being a leader in terms of providing advanced competitive digital services having one of the highest cash dividend yield in the world at around  5.8%.
